On September 2, the Bowie Volunteers played Grand Prairie High School on Homecoming. The Vols were 1-0 before this game , after defeating Marcus High School on August 26. The Vols beat Grand Prairie with a score of 34-28, improving their record to 2-0. The Vols had 3 players of the game, Braydon Johnson, Branden Ellis and Khari Clarkson. Braydon Johnson had 6 receptions for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns. Branden Ellis rushed for 116 yards and 13 carries. Khari Clarkson had an one-handed interception and 5 tackels. The Bowie Vols will play Friday against the Stallions of North Mesquite.
