Christmas Angels

Josh Wells

Bowie has embraced the idea of charity over this last year with the hurricane relief and other things. But of this last month we have adopted Christmas Angels, ran by the student council. Along with Toys for Tots, in both cases we have shown up and shown out doing great community service by donating not just time but funds as well.

Bowie Vols have fully adopted over 100 angels. Most of the clubs at Bowie have adopted angels including: Yearbook, Art Club, soccer, and our IB students. I feel like Bowie has entered the full holiday spirit of charity and is a great thing not only for those affected but for our community as well. As it reminds most of us that these holiday times are for making the world a better place and that we should extend a hand of charity to those in need. However, we should make sure that the charity is not only a seasonal thing, but a thing that when we notice that someone needs our help that we should give it to them. Bowie Vols are taking the first steps to making our community a better place for anyone who lives here.
