Teachers are one of the most important people in a kid’s life. Today I asked 3 teachers about their experience as teachers and what made them start teaching .

Elizabeth Crawford, A teacher at Bowie, explains why she started teaching.

“I decided to be a teacher because I really like working with teenagers and helping them become adults,” Crawford said.

Ms Crawford also talks about her favorite thing about being a teacher.

“My favorite thing about teaching is interacting with my students and getting to know them and helping them learn,” Crawford said.

Brenda Cantu, an English teacher, talks about the hardest thing about being a teacher.

“The hardest part about being a teacher is developing a relationship with the students in the beginning,” Cantu said.

Cantu also speaks about what her favorite moment as a teacher is.

“My favorite moment as a teacher is seeing students work together to figure out an assignment or a project or an essay,” Cantu said.

Brandon Lopez, a physics teacher, speaks about his best moment as a teacher.

“My favorite is the lab of making speakers , because  it seems impossible. And I got to see the first student make the speaker and it’s like the lightbulb moment for every teacher,” Lopez said.

Lopez also speaks about his worst moment as a teacher.

“ I had a year here where I had 0 impact and it was very frustrating and disheartening and students transferred classes and it was very frustrating,” Lopez said.
