Foreign language department surprises the english department. They set up a luncheon for the english teachers and the tradition begins. "We challenged them to draw a department name from a jar and to appreciate that department bigger and better than we had appreciated them. Pay-It-Forward!" sign language teacher Rachelle Laux said.

After twitter threats being made to the school it raised an awareness. Arlington PD took the situation really seriously. Heavy security was enforced at Bowie and an investigation was made.

Senior Tariq Otuemhobe was noticed by Principal Bill Manley for his school involvement. On November 5th Tariq Otuemhobe was announced student of the month. "My advise is become a well rounded student. Be strong in academics, involved in school, and involved in the community." Principal Mr. Manley said.

Students in student council get together to participate in the Pinky Swear triathlon. The event is a nonprofit organization to raise money for kids who have cancer. I got a new perspective on the younger generation. Nowadays, all of the younger kids are all about iPads, iPhones and all that technology stuff and not really about actually doing something productive and playing outside. "When I was at the triathlon however, it was nice knowing that the kids are doing something productive, especially for someone else who can't." Senior Brittanyy Tran said.
